Which size is right for you?
For families and everyday users: the 1 gallon jug
If two or more people at home use castor oil for scalp massages, sealing dry ends or dry skin, the 1 gallon (128 oz) is the sweet spot. It's 100% pure Haitian castor oil, and it costs far less per ounce than buying small bottles again and again. Pour a small amount into an applicator bottle for daily use and keep the jug stored away (see the storage tips below).
For salons and braiders: the gallon or the 5 gallon
Stylists use castor oil all day: on the scalp before and after braiding, on edges and on dry ends. A busy salon will usually go through a gallon quickly. If you work with several stylists, the 5 gallon bulk gives you the lowest price per ounce we offer and means fewer reorders.
For shops and resellers: the cases of bottles
If you sell to your own customers, the ready-to-sell cases save you from bottling anything yourself. Each 12 x 4 oz case works out to about $8.33 per bottle, and each 12 x 8 oz case to about $14.17 per bottle, so you have room to set your own retail price. Many small beauty supply stores and market sellers stock the 4 oz size because it's an easy first purchase for new customers.

How to store bulk castor oil
- Keep it cool and dark. Store the jug in a cupboard or closet, away from direct sunlight, a hot car or a heater.
- Keep the lid tight. Close the container well after every use to keep out air, dust and water.
- Use clean tools. Pour with a clean, dry funnel and use clean, dry bottles. Never let water get into the main container.
- Check before use. If the oil ever smells off or looks different from when you bought it, don't use it.
How to portion it out
- Pick a few small bottles with nozzle tips or pumps. 2 oz to 8 oz sizes are easiest to handle.
- Make sure the bottles and funnel are completely clean and dry.
- Pour slowly. Castor oil is thick, so filling takes a minute, especially when it's cool.
- Label each bottle with the date you filled it.
- Refill from the jug as needed and keep the jug itself closed and stored away.
Tip: Castor oil gets thicker when it's cold. If it's hard to pour, set the closed bottle in a bowl of warm (not hot) water for a few minutes.
